This unit is charged with the processing of library materials by getting all the bibliographic details of the book (Author, title, page number among others). Furthermore, it also assigned with the responsibility of putting the call number on all books by using the Library of Congress Classification scheme to get the right classification mark for book.
This unit is charged with building the collections of the library and providing a policy guide how to build up collections. Collection development unit serve as the first point of call on all new materials brought into the library. Library materials (both print and non-print) are processed here. It involves assigning accession numbers, stamping and listing of the book into the accession register.
